Hell yes, I am. My kids will enter 1st grade and K, at different schools. My daughter is at a school with a very annoying subway commute for us. We have rented a house for the year out of state.
But really, does anyone think in-person schooling will even happen or continue (meaning no outbreaks causing the school to shut)? I don’t understand how people think it’s really going to happen.
I think that schools will 100% have cases, but then they will shut that pod /class for 2 weeks and then open back up in waves. I also think that it's useful to have kids start in person if thy eare going to go remote.
@Anonymous Sure it’s useful to have in-person, but it’s just not goign to happen (and you can argue that it’s a bad idea, health-wise, from the start). I can’t even imagine the coordination required to restart hybrid learning after a shutdown period.
we chose the hybrid option. Sophomore at Laguardia where only their performing arts will be in person and an 8th grader. Everyone we know is choosing hybrid.
I have a kindergartener and second grader. We are doing hybrid, which is the most in-person allowed in our district. Our state chapter of the AAP is actually advocating strongly for in-person schooling for K-5 and children with special needs based on our low numbers, but that remains to be determined. (Vermont mom)

That's nice. We aren't leaving the city, but I am concerned about the commute for my kids.
We are not choosing remote (even though I'm convinced on-site will never happen). But most of the families I know are.
We are choosing remote
OP asked for grades. I would have probably chosen fully RL for a high schooler. But I have a Kindergartener, so hybrid will be.
I have two friends who are going fully remote. They're both really risk adverse families, in general.
