They are clearly stretched beyond their teacher resources and they just cut the day shorter. The kids have been in school for nearly 5 weeks and they have just started to do math. I am worried that no real learning is going to happen this year. I am supplementing but couldn't they try to make an effort at academics?

What grade? Try to unclench there’s a benefit to socializing
What school?
I switched to public this year so I wouldn’t be paying for kids to not learn.
Same at our school. I don't see a lot of learning going on but I'm happy they are at least back at school. I have a younger child, though, so I think the social aspect is very important.
What are they doing in hybrid if not academics? I thought hybrid would be more academically inclined than normal school, since they can't move around and do group activities. (Ideally there would be a balance). I don't since my kids are fully remote -- I wish they were hybrid!
