DC got into a great school during an off year, with flying colors. I am so proud! Also, will be in the IB program and they can take any level class that they are qualified for - they can take Allegra 1 in 7th grade or 9th grade, and so on. DC is so down because he wasn’t admitted to the school where his best friend goes - DC has better grades than that kid, but we didn’t apply during the main entrance year where they took 100 kids. This year they only took 1-2. I am so proud of him, the IB program at his new school is so great, plus he can take any level classes, AP, etc, there’s even a Latin club and amazing athletic facilitlies. Plus we got generous FA (his friend had it easier because no FA). But DC is very unhappy. What can I do to make him see that this was a great fit for him anyway (he is athletic and smart)? The IB program at his school is arguably better than the other school anyway.
