I keep reading here the assumption that remote learning is damaging to DCs. While true for some but is it true for all? I have a DC who is SN and gifted and seemed to relish online learning. He liked the shorter class times, the breaks, the structure, the ability to mute kids who distracted him. But he was also working in very very small groups in remote learning and working with teachers and students he had grown to know well in the 6.5 months prior to lockdown and moving to remote. We have a choice at our SN private to go hybrid or remote and we're considering remote but now I am wondering if I'm missing something. Especially since he will be meeting new students and new teachers with whom he has no prior real-life relationship. Thoughts? Again the classes are either 1:5 or 1:1.
