Having a hard time deciding. We are fortunate enough to have a place outside the city and remote was fine for us in the spring. Leaning towards remote but our school is doing a terrible job describing what that experience looks like. We feel like school will most likely shut down anyway in the fall so why risk it? Kids really want to go back though but I don't think they really understanding what the classroom will actually look like. Anyone in similar situation?

We have signed up for in-person even though I doubt it will happen more than a handful of times. I want the kids to meet their teachers in person at least once, I would like to set up some outdoor playdates and as of right now soccer is still happening for the one kid who loves it. We have been at our country place since March but it is very isolated and far less fun during the mud season of Nov/Dec. We will leave if there is another lockdown but right now I'm setting things up with the anticipation that we will go back and forth a lot.
Sounds like you have a clear preference for your family. So go for it.
Have no country home but similar thought process. At the current transmission rate I don't view school as terribly risky. Will let them meet their teachers and have a semblance of feeling that the school year is starting. I'm sure in-person will be over by mid-September.
Do you really think it will be over by mid-septmeber?
Yes. As soon as kids start even very part-time, cases will go up, and they'll shut it all down. It's already happened in other countries that re-opened.
