I've heard there is a parent petition to counter the faculty one that seems to have closed our private schools. I agree we need to open schools that can put in proper safetey protocols -- teachers are robbing kids from their one chance to have in-person school this year (when weather is nice, rates are low), creating larger inequities and putting kids at all sorts of risk - academically, socially, developmentally. Suicide, depression, anxiety and obesity are all rising among adolescents -- more weeks and months isolate on screens will be detrimental. Can anyone share the petition?

I would think it would be a school-by-school thing, not a petition that addresses all schools. They are all independent schools making differnet decisions. I know at mine there was a group parent letter, and maybe a faculty one, but it specifically addressed issues at our school and not any others.
there is a faculty one co-signed by teachers at schools throughout the city (and beyond) that was sent to all private school admins and boards demanding remote
Any idea what this letter said? Does anyone have a copy?
@Anonymous I don't know, but I'd like to see it too. I know the majority of the teachers at our school favored remote, but we have no idea what conditions they want for going hybrid. They already have just about everything that public school teachers are demanding -- PPE, cleaning, upgraded ventilation.
Is there one at ecfs? I would like to sign
There was one at Spence
If you want to sign one, start one. Parents are letting others determine our kids' fate
@Anonymous did spence reverse their decision?
