NP - I don't necessarily think it should happen, but I could see an argument if the vaccine isn't approved for kids. If we as a society prioritize keeping schools open and kids can't get the vaccine, then one could argue that after health care workers, those with medical conditions, the elderly and essential workers (I'm including teachers as essential workers), we should vaccinate the parents of kids to help limit kids contracting the virus before we vaccinate everyone else between 25-65.
I do think it is probably splitting hairs though. Also - I hope I am wrong, but I am fearful that by the time the vaccine is open to "regular" adults, we will have a surplus of vaccines because so many people who are in theory at the front of the vaccine line will refuse to take it. Doctors are already warning that after getting the second dose, people might want to take the day off of work because they could feel bad the next day. I will 100% take it despite this, but I can see where some people might refuse because they don't want to feel bad for 24 hours (which is stupid because you might feel a lot worse for a lot longer if you get Covid, but people aren't that bright sometimes).
This is splitting hairs, to me.
What would be the argument for this policy?
