Agree, though preschools that are accustomed to sending kids to ongoing schools know how to put each child in the best possible light. In other words, there is an art to writing the report.
@Anonymous ITA. They don't finesse the reports. The PSDs decide which kids are a good fit for particular schools and write the reports accordingly. And this is why things like volunteering and donations have zero to minimal impact. PSDs know that if they send a bunch of underperforming kids one year, it will impact the relationship, and they are going to be punished by the ongoing school in years going forward. This is true at the MS/HS level as well.
This is why connected preschools help only at a certain level. A PSD at a connected preschool will get you in somewhere, but it's not necessarily going to be the place you want. And if there's a disconnect between how you perceive your child and how the PSD perceives your child, you may be better off being at a no name preschool/daycare with no brokering.
I think St B has it on their website. Or they did circa 2014
Google Brearley ISAAGNY
Thank you!! It is pretty thorough! Do you think the teachers are honest when completing this?
Yes, otherwise the preschool loses their credibility.
