Totally disagree. Even though we are 1/3 in our nyc public any schools days are great. ds is getting to know his teachers and classmates. all remote for a new year would be horrible.

As a working parent i agree with this opinion. I think it's actually almost more confusing for ds to be in school some days and then not other days and impossible for us to manage/ work with his schedule.
Disagree. My 8th grader is doing hybrid and she is so happy to be going.

I'll keep doing hybrid, but both DS and I prefer the distance days. Just started middle school. He's shy and socially awkward and I enjoy the more relaxed days. I can leave him home alone while I work and he's just fine. But, at some point, he'll become feral without socialization.

+1 DC is in school 2 days a week and it's been great for her mental health, meeting friends and getting to know the teachers.
This is based on the assumption that hybrid school will increase the rate of spread, which isn't panning out so far.
Also: Vox is NOT a news source.
Because kids can socially distance in classrooms/schools that are now HALF CAPACITY. Sheesh. The perpetual re-visiting . . . .

Disagree - it’s going well for us. It’s not perfect but my kids are so happy to have their in person days, it’s worth it to us.
same. my kid is in first grade; remote learning doesn't work well for this group. one day of in person school is worth like 5 days of remote school.
Hybrid isn't great but so much better than just remote.
