No! Here's my conspiracy theory. DeB is being noncommittal on the SHSAT until the new legislature convenes. The democrats have a super majority. The bill to get rid of the SHSAT will pass. They will institute that 7% plan that they tried to float awhile back that takes a certain number of kids from all city schools and offer SHS spots to them. What do others think?
That is very possible given the current state of things. Though with no grades and test scores from last year, what will they use for the 7%? However, even though there is a supermajority, upstate legislators have no love for Deblasio and I can't see them doing any favors for him. So who knows.
I think you're right. When does the legislature convene? And it's not clear what they would base the 7 percent on? Grades from first half of 7th grade? Grades and test scores in 6th grade (if kids took the state test)?
