We're open. I think we'll close when the city hits 3 % according to the state metric for us, which is 2.5% right now. Cuomo has said that the city will go to orange zone at that point, which includes school closures.
Public schools closed starting today.
I thought Cuomo originally said state guidance was schools would close at 5%. And also that he was targeting "micro clusters". This is all so confusing
@Anonymous I think the micro-cluster plan replaced the 5% rule. What's adding to my confusion is that the microcluster/zone rule in the outer boroughs allowed schools (public and nonpublic) to 'test out' of closure in the orange zone. However, Cuomo has said that the level of testing required in the outer borough schools isn't feasible for the whole city. However however, at that shitshow of a press conference yesterday, he said that he would decide the level of testing that would be required for schools to stay open. So in conclusion...???
HCHS closed. I am expecting they will follow public schools.
That’s because of our teachers union. The PTA is doing testing on site but nothing is good enough. I am so over these teachers!
I heard Bankstreet closed.
Apparently HM closed.
HM closing planned, right?
werent they going to wait until after thanksgiving?
They planned to close after thxgiving, but closed a few days early due to some cases in the HS. Re-opening mid-January.
Brearley closed tomorrow and the next two weeks.
does anyone think they're opening two weeks from now?!?
Catholic schools are staying open until Cuomo shuts them down (per Diocese press release)
