Probably yes. But it's so very sad for restaurants. I'm also hearing from owners of restaurants that they have never had a case traced to them. Idk. But asking them to close with no aid is kind of ridiculous
Yes. I also feel bad for restaurant owners but also wonder - were they actually making any real $ from indoor dining? At least in my nabe (UWS) they don't even seem close to 25% capacity. They might be better off sticking with delivery and not paying waitstaff.
I'm glad they closed but in my neighborhood, not many people ate inside anyway. The outdoor restaurants with the heaters are very popular. I feel horrible for the restaurants and plan to order take out often and give them bid tips even when we go pick up ourselves.
When you look at the date from the governor, less than 2% of cases are traced to restaurants and bars. The biggest source is private gatherings. Seems closing restaurants will only increase the private gatherings with zero rules or supervision. ALL of us are paying with our health, our businesses, our schools and our economy for the selfish people who can't resist having people over/inside for a few months.
this pandemic has been in-laws hell for me....they congregate every bloody weekend since there is "nothing else to do"and they all have different levels of risks that they take with respect to Covid
I think we should have done it 2 weeks ago...
Absolutely yes. TBH, I think allowing indoor dining in the first place was a terrible idea.
100% good idea, never should have opened

It was necessary and maybe now people will be more forceful and successful with demands for aid.

All of this. We need to follow the data and act accordingly.
