I've had a ton of increased anxiety in the last year two years. It's all work related. I've tried meditation, increased sleep, eliminating alcohol, etc. My GP ended up giving me a prescription to xanax to take occasionally. I've never taken it before. It's .25 MG. Does it really zone you out or is it like a glass of Chardonnay? Just curious other people's experience. Thanks.

I used to take that dose. It will relax you and you will feel sleepy. It only lasts a few hours.
I took one everyday and I went through night sweats to get off of it.
Wow, ok, good to know. I'm about an hour and 15 minutes in. I think I'm now just starting to feel like my heart isn't all racy with anxiety as much. I think I'm a little sleepy, but also, I shot out of bed at 5:30am to a ton of awful work emails. So, 6, half dozen on the sleepiness. My plan would be to have one once a week or so if the work icks get really bad. The other plan is win the lotto and stop working on soul sucking ad campaigns for inadequate budgets, timelines and resources. The weekly xanax is probably going to have to be the solve. :)
You shouldn't take Xanax regularly. Once a week is probably fine, but less would be better. I take Ativan for flying (which for obv reasons has been a non-issue recently).
I have really bad anxiety and I take a low dose of Zoloft - 50 mg - which has almost no side effects, and has been miraculous for me. I suffered for years and tried therapy, meditation, etc, etc and nothing else helped.
+1. .75 Zoloft has been my answer. life changing.
