Everything is crazy right now, but is this a crazy idea? My 5th grader does very well in school and is a good writer. I think she has a good shot at HCHS but her school (K-8 private) does not do a lot of testing so I think she needs more practice in taking tests and getting used to what that is like. Would it be crazy to have her take a prep course this spring? I know there's a lot up in the air -- no idea what the entrance exam is going to look like next year, no idea about qualifying tests this year -- but I'm thinking maybe we should take advantage of this time we are trapped at home to get this done. I expect her extracurriculars, which she enjoys, will be back up late spring, summer, fall so why not work on this now instead of when things will get busier later?
If so, can anyone recommend a prep course? One place quoted me $2000 for a weekend zoom prep course, is that crazy expensive or just the going rate?
