I don't think he'll ever formally concede, but he'll find an excuse to leave the White House by Jan 20th. Meanwhile the millions of MAGA nuts who think he is their demigod will still go on believing he's the President, for the next 4 years or however long he wants them to.
No, he will never concede. However, he will hold a press conference where he announces his new BIG, HUGE plans. Most seem to think that it will be the launch of his own conservative digital network. I assume he will spin it that his new network will be even bigger and more important then being president so he is "voluntarily" leaving. I also assume that all of the legal challenges are in part to buy time as he is not ready to announce his next move. He needs to keep his followers occupied with lies until he is ready.
You don't get this number of votes by only having crazy people voting for you. A huge section of the country supported him, so I can appreciate that it's a bitter loss. Coronavirus is what did him in, but there are lots of people who made wrong calls -- it's a once in a century issue. Had this election been run like every other election in the modern history, he would have won -- because of the pandemic, a lot of people voted who otherwise wouldn't have bothered, but they had their ballots mailed to them, so why not. It's a legit outcome, and probably should be the way we do elections anyway, but I can see the sting. As hard as it is, he should try to be gracious, pass the baton for the good of the nation, and move on to the next thing.
It's always a bitter loss for the loser. Whoever it was had that golden prize of the presidency within their grasp and failed to get it. Yet everyone one of them in recent memory has put their personal bitterness aside and conceded graciously. It is unbelievable to me that almost half this country could vote for a man who has acted like a two year old having a tantrum.
@anonymous Exactly. Shoulda coulda woulda. Every losing candidate in history "would have won" in an alternative universe if things had unfolded differently. He's not special, and the ridiculous behavior he and his followers are engaged in is not justified by some sort of "special" extra sting in this defeat.
He will never. His life is defined by hypocrisy and lies.This is waht America gets for nominating this snake oil salesman to represent the GOP. Dems knew this would happen all along.
It's fine to let the legal challenges play out IMO. Al Gore was allowed to do so and didn't end up conceding for a month. Didn't really matter in the long run.
The difference is that (besides there being an actual dispute that could actually change the result in the Bush/Gore case), both Bush and Gore were allowed to begin his transition process straight after the election. Gore had access to the resources and briefings allocated to President Elect for over a month until the court decision, so that if the result had gone his way, he would have been able to hit the ground running.
What Trump is doing by blocking the GSA from letting Biden in, is unprecedented.

Oh yeah. And he will still hold rallies.

+1
This. And to bilk money off his followers that he can then use to fund his venture and pay off his debts.

Trump is the worst the gop is the worst and half of this country has a brain that was fed reality tv for
cultural stimulation. You are what you eat. This is the result!

They were fewer than 600 votes apart, weren't they? I never understood why he gave that up so easily.
@Anonymous Here's a great recap from The Daily. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/27/podcasts/the-daily/george-bush-al-gore-2000-election.html

Eventually they will kick him out, thank goodness. Toddler having a tantrum is about right.
