The thing is, I don't think you can really make any plans that are fool proof. Back in April I was kicking myself for transferring to private from public, but as I sit this week, it seems the better decision. Next month? Who knows. My friend moved to Europe in order to have in-person schools, and now her entire area is shutting down completely for the next three weeks, but if she had stayed she would be in in-person school. We just don't know how to really avoid this thing.
I had the same thought today ... I can't anymore.

Yeah that is the problem ...
totally agree. things are changing so fast and unexpectedly, you can't predict where to run to escape this thing....
Seems like going to a red state would increase your odds of school quiet a bit
Many Hamptons public schools are five days / week k-5.
Also , you could always consider catholic schools. They are open now in NYC on a hybrid
Byram Hills public school district in Armonk is 5 days in person for elementary at least.
