How many kids are counseled out of HM other tough etc? We know a few but we aren't sure if that's indicative of the school or just the people we know haha
OP, can you please expand on why those kids were counseled out? Were they not geniuses, not bright, not studious, with other issues in the family etc.? There is not enough discussion on counseling out I feel (for all TT schools).
From what I know they weren't cutting it- one boy t to allen stevenson I don't know about the other so I don't think it was a learning disability. He was also legacy whatever that means.
Hm is known for being intense, just curious about how that translates..
Let me cut you off at the pass. Kids know when they aren't wanted. It's not worth forcing the issue. If the school doesn't want your kid, it's not right for them. There are many other places- and if it means your child needs more supports, may have learning or behavioral issues you are doing them a tremendous disservice to keep them there. BTDT, am speaking from personal experience.
My DS is now in HM high school but started in K. I would say that every year 2 or 3 kids would be counseled out. I would guess about half the time it is for behavioral issues and half the time because the child can't cope with the HM style of academics. When is comes to issues such as bullying then it's a very swift process but when it's academics the school seems to work with parents and child, sometimes for a couple of years, before any final decision is made.

This happens at all schools (whether TT or 3T) for all kinds of reasons.

Thank you! You're right! No way to know st age 4 what kind of leaner the child will be ..
And kids change. We went from tons of supports in special Ed to very little in mainstream over about 10 years. Meet your kid where he's at.
