I dont know but I find it annoying. I really don’t care about gender or sexual orientation
This is the exact same logic as saying "I don't see color". Facepalm.
It's not because you can't change your color.
@Anonymous Well you're revealing your true colors as a bigoted POS, aren't you? You can't change your gender either, just how you express it, and people are entitled to express their gender honestly.
He means you can either use he/him pronounce or they/them pronounces. It's just a way to write that out short-form.
Jesus, autocorrect. Pronouns!!
I don't mind people doing that if they want to, but the suggestion that we all need to do it is what I don't necessarily follow.
It all boils down to "Don't be a dick." If using someone else's pronouns correctly has a big impact on them and a minimal impact on you, of course we all need to do it.
Calm down. You're spoiling for a fight where none exists. The issue isn't using the pronouns they request be used. The issue is why do I have to indicate s/he etc for myself.
@Anonymous Thank you for clarifying. Nobody in this thread said you had to indicate your own pronouns, so I assumed you were responding to the issue at hand--Page's request to be called by he/they.
It's deliberately designed to be confusing, so that you are always "wrong" and must be corrected.
No, actually it is designed to make it more likely for you to get it right. I think Page is saying it is fine to use he/him/his OR they/them/their. Just don't use she/her/hers.
Am I the only one who feels cringey when I see “Mary Smith she/her”
Why do you think you feel this way?
@Anonymous np. Because no matter how you identify, you can't control how society percieves you or what biological sex you were born as.
The point of specifying pronouns even when you are cisgender is to normalize it so that trans/non-binary etc people don't have to feel singled out when they do it. It's a nice gesture. Nobody's forcing you to do it, but that's why those who do, do.
