What kind of social lives do the kids and families have in Manhattan TT schools? Do families hang out together? Is everyone is visiting the Hamptons or Tahoe together instead of Chuck E Cheese? Do kids do ski lessons/trips together, and if your kid can't join... the kid is a 'loser'? I am assuming Gossip Girl is not reality, or is it?
All of the above. Chuck E Cheese parties as well as weekend get aways on private jets. Many families will choose to go to the same spots for spring break (Aspen, Vail, PC, Switzerland, the Caribbean) but probably not the majority. I'd say 25-30% have houses in the Hamptons.
Yep. Most people are not assholes. There's always a few but I would say on average people at our school do not flaunt their wealth. We personally do fine and are comfortable but what kind of life is missing out on the fun or even boring stuff and living a life of luxury all the time? We've had many a party at Chuck E Cheese or NY Kids Club and have said no to a few extravagant vacations. I would say it's even less "gossip girl" in the older years because the kids are so busy and focused on schoolwork and after school activities and also the school gets bigger and admits more kids from all over/all walks of life. I'm always kind of confused about stories of kids sneaking into clubs or parties every other weekend. Maybe mine are all over-scheduled lol but they're almost always doing homework or at games/competitions after school and over the weekends.
I hate Switzerland and don’t understand why anyone would go there voluntarily.
@Anonymous I lived in Geneva for 3 years and it is SO BORING.
What/where is PC?
Probably Park City, unless the poster meant BC (Beaver Creek) which is another popular destination.
