I lost 12 lbs over 4.5 months, but now the scale isn't budging. I eat only twice a day - a small breakfast and small lunch at 3 PM. I walk 3.7 miles. What can I do to reset? I feel like I can't cut down more on food and don't have the time to do more exercise. I want to lose another 10 lbs which would bring me close to my ideal body weight for height. I am in my mid-40s and want to lose weight for health reasons. Any pointers appreciated.
Congrats on the 12 pounds!! No advice other than to speak with someone who specializes here (nutritionist, personal trainer etc).
Juice and bone broth for a few days
thanks, didnt know that this was a thing....guess shouldn't workout on these days?
NP. I feel like juice is not a great choice in most circumstances?
@Anonymous juice could be substituted with veggies, a fruit and water?
Ok, so sounds like you're doing intermittent fasting if you ingesting calories from 3pm to 8am. So that would be 16/8. For me (age and body type), 16:8 will allow me to maintain a weight, but I won't really lose. I think it's always best to keep your body guessing. Would you consider changing to 19:5 for a week and doing OMAD (one meal a day). Change it up and just do dinner each night for 7 days and see if that kick starts anything.
thank you for this idea, will try it :)
Small breakfast/small lunch may be putting your body into starvation mode which is slowing down your metabolism. how many calories are you eating a day?
Might be worth eating more 1 day, and then less the 2nd day. alternate. That could speed up your metabolism.
I have 1/4 cup oat groats/flax/nuts, matcha in water, and 1 fruit for breakfast. Lunch - green salad bowl with lot of raw vegetables, chickpeas (vary the protein with other lentils/quinoa). I'm trying out vegan, sugar free, gluten free and low fat. I'm usually not hungry when I eat lunch. I have rare days when I feel hungry. I am having trouble eating all the vegetables I'm supposed to eat to get all the micronutrients unless I eat them in the evening, but I think vegetables are free foods?
@ Anonymous Looks like not enough calories.
