If you walk/run/bike outside (not in a densely populated area but in a neighborhood suburb or on a walking trail) as a form of exercise, do you wear a mask?
No. Never. If I am ever closer then 6 feet to someone it is for literally less then a second as I run past them. And even that is pretty rare. I wear a mask pretty much any other time I am out, but I really don't think anyone is going to catch or spread the virus while on a run or bike ride in an unpopulated area.
OP. Thanks. I walk 4.5 miles 4-5 times per week on a trail with other walkers/bikers/runners. It‘s my only real exercise and I hate wearing a mask during these walks. I wear one the rest of the time when I’m out.
I also hate running in a mask. I wear a neck gaiter so that I can pull it down if nobody else is close by. Otherwise it stays on. Other times I wear a cloth mask that ties on - I hate it and call it my "muzzle, but otherwise I'd keep pulling it off.
No. I bike and run in Central or Riverside park and I don't wear a mask while running. I do always have one with me to pull on in case I find myself in a crowded area, and for walking in and out of my building.
OP. I am not a runner, but I try to do a brisk walk and while I'm not panting, I'm doing more than a leisurely stroll. I just hate wearing a mask when I'm walking. I'm breathing heavily enough to make it really uncomfortable. Glad to hear that I'm not being a jerk. It looks like it's about 50/50 on the trail I walk.
I wear one, but I'm walking in Central park and riverside a lot of the time, or on city streets, and there are plenty of people around. If i get really overheated i'll find a bench away from people and take it off for a bit to catch my breath and cool down, but that's unusual. I wear a cloth mask most of the time.
I bring one and when I see people approaching I put it on and I also move as far from them as I can. only not wearing one when I go for a run very early in the AM.

PP - you might consider a cloth mask, so you don't have wet paper tied across your face.
