Our family (Dcs are 7 & 9) went to the zoo earlier today. When I spoke to my mom afterwards, I could tell (mainly from her tone, lack of response and general passive-aggressive way of being) that she was a little miffed that we didn't invite them. I'm sure in a few days, there will be a comment about how insensitive it was for us to leave them out, how hard covid is on them etc. We see them somewhat regularly. Though we haven't done anything "special" with them in awhile, they have been included in other "outings" and will likely invite them to something else soon. Anyone else deal with this kind of stuff?
I have one of those moms. We moved away!
Don't discuss it with her and don't engage if she starts making comments. Literally do not say anything. Then change the topic.
You deserve time with your immediate family. Just ignore her or engage less
