I am no longer open minded. I think people who endorse trump
Can you reply with sone substance - you say he has “done some good on some things” - what things? Democratic platform is “naive to actively damaging on certain issues” - what issues?
1) One of the guys reviewing them is an epidemiologist 2) They changed very little of the wording in the final report.
This example also gets to the heart of the media problem I mentioned above. Since they are hiding & mischaracterizing other things, how do I know this is a big deal? I have to think about it critically on my own.
What I do know is that other news is not reported with the same gusto as critiques of the administration. The PCR cycle & false positive issue is huge, so is the false 3.5% inferred CFR the WHO reported, or reporting deaths that happened many weeks ago as having occurred today, or a new study showing T-cell immunity among those never infected—all things that would calm the public. AND NOT A PEEP from most MSM or public health officials. They are fomenting panic and hiding this information by not discussing it. Honestly, to hell with them. So if the administration wants to counteract the panic in a restrained way, fine by me.
I spoke with a good friend who will be voting for Trump, and it was helpful to talk through our thoughts in a calm, rational way. I can only talk to my husband and this friend about the direction I’m leaning—that’s a problem in itself, isn’t it? I’m coming close to making up my mind.
@Anonymous EO's are easily reversible and if bad policy will have little impact. If good, will be maintained by subsequent Presidents. The regulatory EO for Small Businesses (every reg add requires 2 subtracts) is meaningless in an economy where bad public policy re managing Co-Vid is slaughtering small businesses. So, you're cherry picking there. Allowing Small business to align and set up 401K policies, also a small drop in the buckets since there really are other retirement vehicles for employees.
Your thoughts about race based policies (housing and fed training) indicate you have a white supremacist bent that is sadly aligned with Trump that is worth you examining if you're such a "reader." The Color of Law" by Richard Rothstein for starters.
The fact that you only have "a friend" you can hold secret "rational" (read: echo chamber) conversations with is a good indicator that you're doing your own cherry picking to make a Trump choice rational.
If these posts are more offensive to you than DJT, well . . .
I still might vote for him. Not sure, I’m undecided. But posts like this make me not want to vote for your guy.
I’m not “parroting“ anything but I am a conservative. I‘ve done and seen a lot of things in my life, I’m not an uncultured small town hick. But after it all, I am very much convinced that moderate conservatism is the best way forward for society.
Do you think Trump is a moderate conservative??
I don’t, that’s why I am conflicted and still undecided. Some of what he’s been doing is fine by me, but not all. I agree with the Democrats on very very few things overall though.
...all these posts prove that you are as blind to a side of our country as you accuse us (Trump voters) to be. Irreconciliable differences, I wish we could divorce peacefully...
I doubt it, we're resilient. Please do divorce us asap !
@Anonymous North Koreans are resilient too. Doesn't make them any happier or richer.
Us too . . . except that his supporters (minus some 1% 'ers) suck at the economic teet of the majority THAT DO NO SUPPORT HIM. SO, there's that . . .
My parents are Trump supporters and it is really upsetting to me. I feel like we have nothing to talk about it. It's very, very hard to find common ground.
@Anonymous I wish my parents would open their eyes. They will concede that he isn't a good person, but they maintain that "all politicians are scum" and try to create some weird equivalency between Trump and everyone else. I can't tell you how many of their sentences begin with "What about..." As in, "What about Bill Clinton's philandering?" "What about Obama's weak international policy?" "What about the need for immigration control?" "What about the democrats dividing people?" "What about cycles in temperature and weather?" "What about Hillary being married to a man like Bill?" Seriously, they're my parents and I love them, but I honestly can't talk to them anymore about anything beyond the kids or the people we know. After that, we have nothing to discuss. It sucks.
I feel you. My town leans toward him and I have found myself canceling plans and not wanting to be around people with these kinds of values and lack of ability to critically think. Even the people who say they are voting with their pocketbooks sickens me bc it is so short sighted. Money today means less later. It’s going to be a blood bath. I fear for our country!!!
He chose to play down Covid so as not to cause a panic, BUT it's ok to fabricate facts to create fear mongering of immigrants and caravans invading the US that will rape you and murder your family. PLEASE whoever believes this shit is either plain stupid or void of a soul.
I think it is an and. Both. Dumb and soulless.
I know some Trumpers (my father in law for one) who are objectively smart. And selfish. Selfish, small-minded people who only care about their personal gain.
I'm not even sure what personal gain (other than "owning the libs") one gets from Trump at this point.
@Anonymous The wealthy and big corporations received a massive tax cut. And one of Trump's biggest priorities is to roll back regulations and make businesses even more profitable (at the expense of our environment, health, and well-being). His entire platform is about plying the wealthy with yet more privileges and fewer restrictions, and scaring everyone else (the Blacks and the Mexicans are coming to burn down the cities and loot stores!)
I don't think they are all morons. But they are either benefiting from his policies, so they want to continue the gravy train going, or they've been fed a con that liberals are socialist that want to destroy American and that republicans are trying to prevent them from doing that.
Think what you wish, I'll vote for him
I think you are a moron. And also a jerk. And a loser.
Always the reduction ad racism as a "Trump" card.
