Does anyone if they are enforcing travel restrictions in and out of NYC? Have a friend who is driving up from DC, spending the night with us in the City, then leaving the next morning for Vermont. Should there be an issue at the bridges or tunnels?
And are they actually tracking out-of-state visitors to see if they are in self-quarantine?

yes, they aren’t catching everyone. But yes they are stopping cars at tunnels and bridges, checking hotels, tracking those flying in on flights and then following up on some of them. She needs to figure out the quarantine rules that apply and follow them Instead of worrying about whether or not she’ll be caught.
Vermont mom. She needs to quarantine for 14 days before coming here or upon arrival. Restaurants and businesses frequently ask for this data (on paper) for contact tracing. Plus, it’s the right thing to do.

We just returned after spending a few days upstate. We rented a car and it so happened to have Alabama plates. No one stopped us.

They can’t stop everyone. But if you pay attention. The troopers are clearly pulling over cars (actually not just out of state plates either) at the bridges and tunnels. It’s also in the news.
