Seriously. NY is the ONLY place in the country handling this well right now. Things are opening up, getting back to normal. I see a lot of optimism. What is up with this board?
Disagree - northern New England has always done well despite close proximity to NYC/Montreal/Boston. Certainly doesn't have the population or density of NY, but it's inaccurate to say you're the "only" place.
Totally agree. We are doing well. Mask compliance is high. If there are new infections, I think it will not be as bad as spring because of masks, distance, tracing, and the fact taht we have a certain level of immunity due to people who had it aready. Facebook just rented a huge new space here. And this is totally anecdotal, but was talking with a few people at work who deal with large corporate clients and they said their clients were absolutely considering investing in NYC and shifting operations here for short/medium term because they see NYC as a place that is stable and dealing with the virus competently as opposed to other areas of the US.
We do, sure. But these are just people with a political agenda. Or looking to rationalize their own life decisions. I mean, just leave already if you hate it so much.
They're trolls. I mean, if you feel like you need to get off a sinking ship, you go. What's the point of crowdsourcing what others are doing? Does it change things if we're all leaving the city or if it's just you, if you really think this is a necessary thing to do?
@anonymous when you say "trolls" do you just mean stirring the pot? Or do you consider any questions about what others are doing to be "trolls"? I love NYC and intend to stay, but I'm on this board so I can hear from other's experiences and points of view.
@Anonymous I think this person accuses anyone who has a differing viewpoint of being a troll. Every single time, it just devolves into her yelling “troll!”

ALL of the Northeast states are handling it well. VT is handling better than anyone. Typical NY-centric attitude.

This is what NYers do. We complain.
Exactly. I don't hate NYC. I just enjoy complaining. It's kind of a hobby, a pastime if you will.
@BrooklynMom LOL

Which posts are you even talking about?
I know. I'm not seeing these posts. I know people are frustrated with the NYC DOE, but c'mon, that's justifiable.
@MidtownMom
Sure, because all the other cities have in-person school. Oh, wait...
@anonymous Ha, ha! No, I'm talking about general complaining about the DOE. Even before the pandemic, many parents complained about them.
Some of the trolls have certainly moved here with us from UB.
The board was originally URBAN Baby not NYC baby
