I like visiting the Hamptons but get so sick of everyone constantly talking about real estate, how much they are making on their rental, how much it's going to cost to install a pool. It's just gross. People used to be interesting. Is this the scourge of middle age?
Sounds like gross new money
What kind of company do you keep? Stay away from the riffraff and enjoy the weather and beach.
Sounds exactly like where I live. All people talk about is houses and cars. It’s so boring, yet NYers are coming in droves Now. They won’t like it here, that’s all I am saying. Life isn’t just about having a big house and pool.
Where?
@AnonymousNYmom Nice part of FL. It’s soulless and NYers are going to hate it once the pandemic is over and they realize how much better NY is. I speak from experience. I miss NY a lot.
What you just said applies to any suburb. We would visit friends and the guests would keep talking about "blowing out their walls". What do people have against their walls, anyway?
This is true of my Long Island burb which is why I have no friends and love my dog
It is fun to watch the prices plummet though...?!?
Yeah, haven't really had a look at real estate prices lately, have you.
Taking the long view
Sell and rental prices through the roof in the Hamptons now.
My god, but people really aren't ever happy with anything in life. If you're in the Hamptons right now or any place really with easy access to beaches or swimming pools what do you care what every Tom, Dick and Harry has to say. Shut them out and enjoy life.
