DD is a HS junior and really wants a revamped BR. We moved six years ago and took the preteen look with us. Both DD and I have a mix of ADHD and executive function challenges so 100s+ of online photos can sometimes create more confusion and less coherence. Does anyone have suggestions of online design sites or designers working virtually, but can grasp that this project is for a rental (paint - yes, tearing down walls - no)? TIA - really appreciate suggestions.

I am sure most interior designers are offering virtual work now. This site is supposed to streamline the process, but I am too hesitant to try it. https://havenly.com
This is just a tool, but Benjamin Moore and Adobe both have apps that extract the color palette from a photo and ID the shades. Maybe having paint chip screen shots for the top images will help. Also 100s of photos would make your head spin—good to pause and let ideas settle after that kind of research.
We’re doing some stuff like this (=if we’re stuck at home we might as well like it) and strategies include
- Design by subtraction. Elegance being refusal and all, get rid of old stuff. Makes physical and mental space. - Prep. You can do a lot of spackle and primer and semigloss white trim before kiddo decides anything. If design is still stalled out, at least you got all the handprints off the wall.
- Games like ”How much could you do with $100/$? at Amazon.” Kick start to research and budgeting. Our imaginary 100 was a bulletin board, matching frames, a throw for the bed, and a very ugly little bedside rug that looked to me like a bath mat but that kiddo still wants.
