Any thoughts on whether to take vitamin D or not? This letter from 120 scientists to world governments is interesting. Anyone taking 4000 IU daily? https://vitamindforall.org/letter.html
The NYT had an article a few years ago about how the hype Vitamin D insufficiency and prescribing high doses is a scam, there is no accepted standard for what is a "normal" level and the benefits claimed for high doses hasn't been proven.
I became very ill for a period of time. I was exhausted, skin problems, hair problems, etc. No one could figure out what was wrong, and I actually almost got diagnosed as hypothyroid and put on medication for the rest of my life. One doctor finally tested for vitamin d deficiency, I was insanely low. A few weeks of taking a prescription supplement of it and I was good as new. Couple years later, same thing, got sick, but this time I realized what was happening, had them test for it, got on the supplement and felt better and began to take it in a daily. I am religious about sunscreen and sunglasses so that was why I wasnt getting it from the sun. I think it is something worth investigating if you are having any issues, I can't speak to the overall benefits beyond that.
