My kids are already registered for next year. Our camp closed this past summer, but we all know a lot more now about how to control transmission and it will be a lot safer by then.
I think more are going to open. My dd went for 4.5 weeks this summer and the camp's COVID protocol was amazing. 0 cases. They created their own bubble where after the first week of camp, no one had to wear masks. Hopefully, camps that were successful this past summer will share their best practices so other camps feel comfortable in opening up.
Probably fewer families will choose sleepaway camp (worried about infection while there, worried about travel back and forth). Why?

Mine is also registered for next year. Our camp opened this past summer (with a modified schedule) and it was great.

I think they will all be open and a lot of people will be applying. Exceptions might be ones with a large international population.
My kids went for 5 weeks this summer in Maine and are going back next summer. Their camp is almost full in certain ages already.
Less. We saved a fortune by keeping the kids home and traveled locally. Next summer we are taking camp money and going overseas for 2 weeks
That's really cool but I definitely don't think there will be less demand.
