I live in a state with strict quarantine requirements. Visitors from almost every other state in the country, except for a few sparse surrounding counties, are required to quarantine 14 days before visiting. Similarly, if i were to leave the state, both my job and the state require a 14 day quarantine or a week quarantine plus Covid test prior to resuming life and work here.
It’s fine, and it’s temporary, and I can live with it. But what’s driving me absolutely batty is that its obvious on social media how many people just either don’t know or don’t care, and come here for travel as it’s a popular destination this time of year. Hotels and travel boards are clearly not incentivized to advertise these quarantine requirements.
I’m frustrated about the heightened risk we are put in by people flouting the guidelines freely (we are just now starting 4 days/school per week for K-2 even though the rate in our area has been <1% for months!). But in a way I also feel like I watch others come and go while I stay put and try to do the right thing. I haven’t seen my parents 5 hours away in months! Thanks for letting me vent! Suggestions on finding peace?
