It was actually ok. It was at the end of a much longer conversation about work, how it’s going, etc. she had been out getting jack be littles for dc to finish up a pumpkin activity. Most of the talk was about how much we appreciate her, and what we can do to make the work environment better for her. she would have been so upset had we just up and fired her without giving her a chance (even though being so dramatically late one day was definitely a for cause reason alone). We will see what results but just wanted to share that it ended up ok, and that I’m so so glad we did it vs just terminating. I also feel good about doing the right thing. It’s what I would have told a friend to do, but it’s hard when it’s your own life. Just glad that we found it in ourselves to be the type of people we want to be when it counts. Thanks for all the advice. Fingers crossed we see a positive difference. If not, at least we tried.

That's great! I posted on the other thread, and agree you did the right thing!
