Staying home and not doing big gifts with extended family this year. Want to send some simple tokens and was thinking of Levain cookies or something from another NYC place. I’ve never sent or received baked goods like this (cross country) though and kind of don’t get how it works. How do they keep them from going stale? Are they actually good when they get there?
Omg best cookies ever !!! I would be eternally grateful !!
I have sent Levain through Goldbelly. They were great. I believe they were individually wrapped.
Oh no not Goldbelly, they F'd up an order I did beyond repair, it would have arrived spoiled by the time it got there. So - NO
I've only had good experiences with Goldbelly!
Well this was height of Covid and I was mailing something out of NYC to the burbs and it just went sideways - they never fulfilled the order on time, UPS screwed up delivery instructions ... waste of time.
OP- bummer! They aren’t doing shipments through Goldbelly anymore so hopefully things are better handled on their own. Just sent some out. Shipping cost is crazy though and earliest delivery was December 30th. Good thing it’s the thought that counts ;)
The cookies are so good and Levain's team is so lovely, so I think this is a great idea!
I do not understand why there isn't one in the West Village yet :( NoHo is just a little too far to satisfy my cravings. Wah.
This place on bleeker street is great https://chipcitycookies.com/chip-nyc-menu/
We got a huge gift basket for Harry and David and a lot of the stuff is stale or processed. Levain is great
