As well as the belief that those non- standard people have forfeited the right to compassion and empathy from their fellow human beings, because secretly, you believe they are not fully human, unlike you.
"Lacking compassion and empathy for struggling fellow human beings is deplorable, at any time and in any context. Merely noticing OP’s terrible deficit and pointing it out. "
What I saw in that post was an observation. I didn’t get the impression that the OP is lacking in compassion or empathy, nor do I think she was judging fat people in a mean spirited way. It simply is true that obesity raises the risk of many health complications. Being aware of this isn’t the same as pointing a judgmental finger and saying “ha ha, you brought this on yourself”.
I'm the OP of that post. It was meant to be a comment on the media hype around the pandemic, with headlines like: "Perfectly healthy 20-year olds are DROPPING DEAD from Covid!" yeah, except that being 300 lbs is in NO WAY healthy.
I completely agree that public health in our country is a travesty, and the "body positive" movement does no one any favors.

ita. The whole thing felt lacking compassion.
This.
There is nothing wrong with noticing things and talking them through!
No thought police, she didn’t tell op what to think. She merely asked what op would think. BIG difference.
And then she made a moral judgement:
"Lacking compassion and empathy for struggling fellow human beings is deplorable, at any time and in any context. Merely noticing OP’s terrible deficit and pointing it out. "
Moral prosecutor.
There are some serious strawman arguments being raised in this thread!
How is your compassion, supposedly on the camp of being proud, is going to save lives of those died of disease?
