I’ll bite - Horace Mann - insufferably pompous, competitive
stuyvesant - poor man‘s Horace Mann
brearley- unattractive girls, brainy
So what is Hunter? The poor man's Dalton?
Hunter is more academic than Dalton so maybe, the Thinking Man's Dalton...
dalton -- awful school that goes 100% remote because so many of them are so rich, they weren't coming back to the city anyway.
Honestly, I think it's awful for everyone. Rich people don't want to educate their own kids or supervise them, nor do they want them sitting in front of screens all day with the equivalent of a Hamptons housekeeper watching over them. There is no way that the majority of the parent community at Dalton supported this.
Agree. I know a few Dalton parents of ES kids and they are not happy.
surprised that Dalton admin is being so unresponsive to parents' concerns
Speaks really poorly of the school. There is no reason they can't at a minimum do a hybrid option.
Dalton is going 100% remote for all grades?! I didn’t hear about this!
What about columbia? And ecfs?
CGPS - flashy. ECFS - limousine liberal.
CGPS is handling the pandemic and the internal diversity reckoning in a much more egalitarian and effective manner than many schools in the city. Not sure to whom the credit goes but all power to the flashy school.
ECFS one alum created the atom bomb and another was Roy Cohn. So the takeaway, when you combine that with Jeffrey Katzenberg, another alum, is that the school is arguably neither cultural nor ethical...
Roy Cohn went to ECFS? Wow, I didn't know this.
LREI - downtown performative liberals
Downtown folks can be as obnoxious as uptown folks. And it's been a few years, but an advisor there used to affirmatively discourage the kids from taking the SHSAT.
(It was a reply to the LREI inquiry).
