I'm visiting my sister for a few weeks and I'm in a room on an upper floor. She said she was thinking of getting one. I'm just worried it could wreck her electricity bill, but it is pretty hot. Any experiences or warnings for those units...or a recco on a good one? Thank you.
I used to live in a duplex where the living room was the full height of the apartment, like 16' ceiling with two sets of windows stacked. No window unit could even make a dent during summer, so we got a portable AC. Something like this: https://smile.amazon.com/Honeywell-HL10CESWK-Black-Portable-Conditioner/dp/B01CS3J570/
I grew up with window acs and had them in my first apartment after college. They worked and were probably less expensive than Central air. Before installing something like that though, have you tried a stand fan? They can be pretty good!
