I've allowed DC, 7 to have 3 playdates . Ultimately the mask comes down when they start to run around. Once they went in sprinkler so mask came off to avoid getting wet. Both moms insisted they keep them on, but after 20 minutes of on and off, we let them interact without them. I think over 8 years old is probably easier, but this young is very hard! What will happen with keeping masks on for a full
school day ?
PS. does anyone see the cat ? I was curious about adding the GIF. lol, so just ignore that
Haha, I do. I thought it seemed pretty out of place but maybe this is a thing we are doing now?
I do too. LOL!
According to a group of doctors I saw talking on fb, the younger kids are not vectors of covid. So, going off of that (?), I told DD10 she can take her mask off but do not go anywhere near an adult, but it is OK to play with little kids.
I agree. I've spoken to doctors as well and it seems that younger children are not vectors. Playing outside with other kids their age seems fine.
A study came out from South Korea which observed that 10 year olds are as infectious as adults. It’s really just the young children who are less infectious.
I read an article saying that 10-20 are essentially the same situation as adults. There's also a ton of kids in Florida testing positive. It all freaks me out. Ugh.
Not my experience. I have a 5 yo. We have met maybe 10 or so classmates and friends and see many others in the playground. She is also now going to camp for 7 h a day. She is doing great with the mask and so do other young kids that I see. It's the over 10, even worse over 13 crowd, that don't give a cr@p.
In addition to kids not being vectors, I think outside is less of a problem than inside. I'm not strict about masks outdoors (but I don't spend concentrated amounts of time outdoors near someone else's face. I do things like hiking, etc)
