Hi all, happy Monday. Has anyone found peace with using an encrypted Password Saver App - such as Lastpass ? Short of using the same one, whenever possible, writing them down, keeping them on notes folders in the cloud etc. , I feel like i need to take this a step further ...please help !
I use an algorithm for all of my passwords. For instance, pick something like you kids‘ initials or your favorite travel destination followed by the (as an example) the year you were married or graduated or whatever), with the last two letters in caps of the name in the url/website ( or the first two or the first and third, or the first letter of each word in the company name...). Add a character of your choice into the mix and use the same formula every time. It sounds complicated but it’s super easy and I don’t have to memorize. So for a couple of examples, for this site your password would be tuscany1997NYC* or Urban Baby might be tuscany1997URB* or T-Mobile would be tuscany1997TMO* I’m using the first three letters of the url in caps with a symbol at the end but the beginning is always the same. This formula usually meets every password criteria and I can reuse it.
OP here - thank you for your response ! I have been doing a version of this now. But for whatever reason whenever kids/ DH or whomever tries to sign in or new on a device they need to update it so we end up with a mishmash again.
I use LastPass. It’s great. Highly recommend.
OP - thank you ! can you share the basics - how long did it take you to set up , I have about 70 accounts to sync ...did you have to do one individually ?
I second last pass. Just sign on. The internet is literally not viable for me without it. It would take an hour top to set it all up. Very user friendly.
Just use Chrome, it saves any passwords you wish and you can log in to your account from any computer
