In Paris they have heated cafès which are comfortable for outdoor dining during the winter months, however those heaters must be awful for the environment.
I know I'm being paranoid, but how safe are these outdoor heaters? I'm just imaging fires starting. Also, has the city told restaurants it's ok to put flaps around 3 sides of their tents? I'm starting to see that a lot. Can you tell I don't eat at restaurants now? However, I do an obscene amount of takeout. :-)

@Anonymous yes but NY is colder than Paris, isn’t it? I can’t imagine sitting outside in the winter in NY.
We were in Paris in mid February. It was low to mid 40s. It was fine outside with the heaters.
