Deutsche Bank tried this in Europe. But there was so much outcry, it didn’t get anywhere. Remote workers correctly countered that they have to cover lots of expenses that were previously covered by employers: desks, chairs, laptop, printer, HVAC, internet, phones etc.
And how did I forget the biggest issue of all?!? Childcare, because schools were closed. Are they proposing we tax teachers at a higher rate too now, because they “got” to work from home?
