@anonymous Definitely not a no! Same exact thing happened to us. DD got into a great school we were happy about but our true FC was Spence, where she was waitlisted. Called once a day for 3 days and received the offer at the end of the week.

They all overaccept, so not only does the WL move, but it actually has to move or else the school has too many students. It’s a weird thing they do so they can claim a perfect yield even though there are always a handful who do not accept their offers.
Wow this has just brought my anxiety way wayyy up. Now im afraid my PSD is going to broker us away.
this process is brutal on my mental health :(

So sorry. Didn’t mean to raise your anxiety. I know how stressful this process can be. But remembering that brokering can work in your favor. It can seal the deal at your beloved school and free up a spot at your second choice so that a family you love will also get happy news. Now is the time to be very clear with PSD about what you want and have her fight like hell to help close the deal.
Are schools going to continue to give feedback between now and 2/4? Like, I know Spence, for example, had their committee last week and gave feedback. Is there still more to come depending on what they heard from PSDs?
And anyone unconnected hear anything from Trinity? When is/was their committee?
I heard HM is giving feedback to PSDs early next week.
Reviving this thread -- about two weeks left. How are people feeling? I feel like there is so much going on behind the scenes, and I'm completely in the dark. Have given up on trying to read the tea leaves of positive feedback. Also saw on YBM that someone mentioned that DOAs talk to one another about candidates, and that the brokering happens at the DOA level, as well as the PSD level, which is somewhat maddening.
We didn’t get any response from our letters. It was fine. Communication came only from the PSD.
Kids that get multiple “TT“ offers usually get schools like Collegiate/HM that don’t really give feedback, and then another school that does give feedback. Or they went to an unconnected preschool and didn’t have a PSD that brokers.
I read the YBM thread and I believe some of it based on my experience in the process. I honestly can’t imagine HM, Trinity, and Dalton getting on a call and picking where John, Bill, and Ted go if they’ve only applied to those three schools. I just don’t buy that. If it happened, it would be a great strategy to only apply to your favorite three schools, no?
Trinity is always siblings and legacies, as they pretty much take them all. The year we applied I believe there were three unconnected spots or something like that. We didn’t care for it anyway, so had no dog in the hunt, but many of our preschool classmates were fighting it out for those tiny odds.
Do you think Brearley’s class is full at this point? Or names are still being discussed?
Does anyone know what the notification date is for HM? We heard it’s before 2/4 but I can’t seem to find a date anywhere
I wonder how often initial positive feedback turns into a WL in the last days before notification day.
We got strong positive feedback from Dalton

Anyone have updates on other schools?
