Anyone else read this? I am not an ACB fan but I found the article highly offensive. When I saw what she wore, I thought she looked nice and like someone who knows what fits her well and she likes to wear. Maybe I'm naive but I don't think it was intended to send any sort of political message. It was appropriate attire. End of story. I just don't see men being attacked for their choice of suit and tie in this way.
It's totally misogynistic. Truly. And so horrible that they get women to do this to each other. Speaking of moral high ground, that "journalist" should have refused.
"She may be about to ascend to the heights of legal power, ruling on cases that affect the lives of millions and shape future generations, but she does so cloaked in an image that calls to mind not the clichéd glass-ceiling breaker in a can’t-miss-me trouser suit and power pin, but rather the P.T.A." Gross. ITA, this is offensive.
Unless she wore something totally inappropriate, I couldn’t care less what she wears. And neither should the NYT nor anyone else. This isn’t a fashion show but a confirmation hearing, FFS.
But since they bring it up, I'm pretty sure that Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor are not such "Sharp Dressed" gals either...
@Anonymous And neither are the male Supreme Court justices...
