I live on the UWS. We bought a 3 bed in 2017. There is already the homeless issue but now a building has gone up making mg apt dark. Any idea/guesses on how much value we may have lost due to both factors?
Lol maybe we are in the same building. We actually feel a new building will be overpriced so people might be more attracted to our apartment of the same size as yours since it will be cheaper! Overall I think NY real estate may be or will dip to 30% less, based on broker's input, so if you can avoid it don't sell now.
I don't think the homeless issue will be long-term. It's probably the light issue which will be a bigger issue. However, a 3 bedroom is very attractive right now.
We have a small 2 bedroom on the UWS, were hoping to sell and upgrade to a larger space, but we've decided to renovate and stay put for a while. Everything will be nice and new and we can hopefully ride out the dip. That's my thinking.
We have a really really cheap small 3 bedroom in a great location need of renovation. Renovation v moving would be the best move, but I'm just so overwhelmed with the thought.
