I think we will DEFINITELY have a second wave, by Sept if not sooner. But I don't think it'll be as bad as the first one, because 1. things will shut down sooner, 2. we know that masks help, 3. the most vulnerable people are still being very cautious.

I agree, since we have lot more information than we did a few months ago. However, the asshats in Florida, Texas, and Arizona might throw a wrench into it.
Why can’t they use their asshats as masks?
AZ shut down too early, back when NYC did due to national panic/unknowns. Should have waited but was cautious before. The state couldn’t afford to shut down for 6 months.
100%. And I blame them for the fact that my kid will probably not be going back to school next year.
I agree and because of this, I took DD to doctor and dentist appointments last week. Worried that they'll shut down again if we wait. These were for rescheduled appointments that got cancelled in April.
Yep, I'm doing all my doctor and dentist appointments now. Don't want to get shut out again.
I actually feel somewhat optimistic that Cuomo will have this relatively under control. I had to go to CA to help my dad after being in NY for months and let me tell you, it is night and day in terms of preparedness, test availability, mask wearing, people meeting with friends in close distance, etc. For months I heard CA had it under control, but they don't. Makes me very grateful for Cuomo. There isn't going to be in person school though...
Young people in CA are over it. Friends there are having partie, traveling nationally & internationally.
