Hi! My live events (trade shows/conferences) business, frozen since March, has no hope of resurrection until Covid under control, conservatively late 2021. I need to retool, and need your input! I am 56, BA from top-10 school, history of sales, project mgt, and mid-level administration roles in training and HR consulting businesses (before I started my current company in 2012. I am a wonky-ish INTJ, love strategy, capable of detailed plan roll-outs. I have a college kid, and a HS kid with medical problems (who seems to be managing her condition better w less supervision). What can I do, retrain/retool for, which can get me thru the next ten years. I am NOT a finance person, but I do understand insurance and finance-adjacent concepts. I have a high tolerance for the most incredibly boring work, details, etc. House almost paid-off, college tuitions will be manageable, so I can get-by with even $50-60k to start. Ideas?

Oh and I am in CA, an hour from LA.
Look up Dorie Clark ‘reinventing you’
Also put a profile on upwork and get some hourly gigs for now
I wish you good luck. Maybe look into government jobs, as many of those are good if you are detail oriented and would pay in that range.
thanks! Am I young enough to land a govt job tho?
I don't know how many government jobs are available now, but supposedly it is illegal to discriminate on the basis of age, and one would hope that a government entity would follow the law. (It's also stupid to hold experience and knowledge against someone).
