Who would you have preferred to see?
That's a lazy cop-out.
OP: I liked Bernie. That's it.
@Anonymous Bernie was a grifting loser who had 0 accomplishments in his decades of public services other than owning 3 houses off of donor funds and his wife siphoning money through media ad buys. He embraced russian propaganda that maligned hillary and helped give trump the election. He hired a bunch of grifting, sycophantic sexists and racists to run his campaign, ignored multiple allegations of sexual harassment. He is a rat fucker and anyone that can't see that by now doesn't have the intelligence to be voting. Fuck you, moron.
Tell us how you really feel.
No. This is not the time to have a tantrum because you wanted Bernie or whoever. I would prefer a different candidate too, but the bigger evil is Trump. He needs to go because if he gets another term, we may not get another chance to vote in ANY Dem candidate. Voting rights will be hacked away even more and the next election will be a foregone conclusion.
Vote for Biden now so that you have the chance to vote for a better progressive candidate later.
OP: I am listening to what you are saying- but none of this feels right at all to me.
@Anonymous You don't think Trump is a threat to democracy? Have you been seeing the voting restrictions cases the GOP is already bringing? Have you heard him getting the crowd to chant "twelve more years" as a "joke"?
You honestly think that another term for him to wreak havoc is not a bigger problem than a lacklustre dem candidate?
Sorry, I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but now I really do think you're a troll.
I honestly don't blame you. Dems can't be surprised if they lose - Biden is just not a good candidate. They needed to run a campaign based on more than a puerile hatred of Trump and the desire to vote Trump out. The conversation is just about Trump, the same as in 2016. If all anyone is talking about is Trump, including how much they hate him, that means that there is nothing interesting to say about the opposing candidate. Biden is decent and experienced and knows how to govern, but we live in a post-decency political world right now. And I say this as a lib who is going to go do a hopeful vote for Biden anyway.
I totally disagree! I've heard **clear** policy from Biden, and nothing but "Dems are socialist" toddler name calling from Trump. What, at all, did we learn about Trump's platform last night?
Actually, I thought it was a pretty stark contrast on numerous policies: how to handle coronavirus, the environment, economic priorities, taxes, immigration, healthcare, and other issues. If you heard no policy contrasts at all, then maybe you were disinclined to hear them?
Thanks for your insight.
Come on. For the sake of the planet at least - and what we're leaving for our kids and grandkids.
Obvious troll. How's Moscow? Snowing?
This. No way that an actual liberal who signs up for and makes political posts on a (mostly) urban moms message board is taking a pass on voting this year.
Absolutely. This is the #1 troll tactic. "I'm part of your in group" (therefore trust what I have to say) "but I'm going to try to dissuade you from voting for your candidate."
Dear Svetlana, there are only 25 or so of us here, you'll get a better bang for your buck on YouBeMom.
LOL, I know right? And even there they'll laugh him/her out of the water. How tragic.
I agree, definitely a troll. I do not know of one liberal who is not voting (early) for Biden, despite the fact that no one actually likes Biden. We do however like democracy, are not white supremacists, and would like to not die in a pandemic or wildfire.
Lol, so this.
You are a lying liar who lies.
I am not lying and I am not a troll either- I just feel :-( after watching the debate and I seriously do not know.
@Anonymous Oh please troll, give it a rest.
To the original poster. not voting is the dumbest thing one can do in this election. Its not a protest, it is handing over your vote to someone else. No one cares that you didn't vote in protest. People in other countries take their responsibility very seriously, spend hours in line, and in some its a risk of life to vote.
ITA. And if you don't exercise your right to vote this time, you may not have another chance to vote or abstain from voting. But I suspect you are a troll who can only cast a ballot in elections where Putin is always the winner.
If you were a Bernie supporter, there are many like you. So disillusioned with both parties that you’d rather sit it out than participate. I will be voting, but I know for a fact that you’re not alone.
I don't understand this "thinking." If they sat out the last election or voted Stein because of whatever, and this hellhole of shite is the result, what type of critical thinking skills lead you to believe it will get "even better!" by not voting? Jesus Christ, people are so...ugh. Signed, a European person who sits in disbelief that these morons will sit by as it gets even WORSE.
From what I understand, their thinking is that both sides are so corrupted by major corporate interests that it really doesn’t matter all that much who wins.
Except that one side is trying to make sure we never vote in free and fair elections after this if they win. So yes, it makes a HUGE difference who you vote for.
Lol ok svetlana. You have to be a citizen to vote anyway 🙄
guys STOP. Spotting trolls is part of my job. This is CLEARLY a troll. shut it down - let this be the last comment.
What job do you have that you spot trolls?
Your'e a selfish idiot if you don't vote.
Please stop with this name calling. And yes, I am voting, and I believe everyone should be encouraged to vote, but this isn't productive.
