NY State has an unclaimed funds site. I searched my name a few weeks ago and found some sort of unclaimed thing - it appears to be an Apple settlement. If you find your name, you fill out the form, but they don't tell you what you'll get. You just have to wait for the check to show up. I assumed it was gonna be like 18 bucks. But the check arrived today from the NY Comptroller and it was $304. So hey - check for your name just in case. https://www.osc.state.ny.us/unclaimed-funds

Yes, both DH and I have received our money. I knew about mine and it was $1,000 deposit from my first credit card. But he was surprised to find out he had a couple of thousand dollars from a former employer he didn't part on good terms with. It was retirement contributions from profit-sharing I believe.
I'm in a Facebook group and a ton of people in the group have checked. Most are getting like 40-60 bucks. But one lady got $2400. Yahtzee!
Yes I just did this too. Sort of challenging to find documentation tied to certain financial institutions or old addresses. But so worth it!
I have checked in the past, and have money to claim. But the money is under my maiden name and it says that I am dead have to provide a death certificate to claim. I have yet to figure out how to resolve.
Wow, thank you for sharing! I just filled in my info and had two claims. Just submitted. Fingers crossed it's a nice unexpected windfall.
