My DS is attending a private preschool now, he will be in prek next year so I've been following the k admission posts. Me and my husband are not from NY and both went to public schools so the private admission process in nyc is a pretty new concept. I often see "not connected not legacy". What exactly does "connected" mean??
generally it means sibling or legacy
It means you have a sibling, a legacy, a kid of faculty/staff, or you have some personal "in" like a good friend on the Board.
Thank you. I was thinking a personal connection with the management or board something. Thank you for clarifying!
at our school the official definition does not include good friend on the board. it's only sibling, legacy and child of faculty. Board members references do get special consideration but it's not quite the same category.
My husband and I. Not being snarky, just letting you know so that when you fill out applications, etc., you say that correctly.
Thank you!
