My current job is incredibly stressful and toxic, and I am grossly underpaid (they don’t make a lot of money, so there isn’t any room for an increase either). I had an interview with the recruiter for a job that seems really great, but I don’t think it went well at all :(( I hope at least they refer me to interview with the company so that I can make a good impression there but I am not counting on it. Where I live these opportunities are exceedingly rare.
Why do you think it didn’t go well?
He didn’t read my written responses before the interview and asked me the exact same questions again, and I got confused and didn’t get my points across well. It’s not that I don’t know but I was nervous.
Well he should have been more organized and prepared. Why were you nervous, nobody knows your background and strengths better than you! Work on some breathing exercises or such to help you get in the zone so you come across as confident and poised.
Easier said than done! I was shocked that he didn’t read the questionnaire which he sent me to complete (then why send it at all?). But he wasn’t a good interviewer either, in that he didnt make his subject feel comfortable or welcome at all. I always do that before my interviews to facilitate a conversation rather than turn it into some interrogation.
