I would not. This is a year to give a store bought box of chocolates unless you are super close with coworker and know this is ok with her/him
I think without context it's even odd in a regular year. (I'm a nice person, I promise)
OR - I agree but I am giving OP the benefit of doubt and assuming this is something that's done at her workplace (it's not the case where I work but I can imagine if you are at a small place this could be a thing)
@Anonymous Yes, I think context matters, too. I'm just thinking about all the diverse food requirements at my workplace and how something like what OP describes would be difficult to pull off successfully.
OP- interesting! I usually give some coworkers tokens of appreciation at the holidays like cookies in a Tupperware with a holiday card... nothing hard to “pull off successfully.” I receive things like this too so I guess my work place is different than others. Sounds like I should hold off this year though.
