Ha! I just got one as a gift a week ago. Ok, so I'm far from an expert, but her are my thoughts. I mean, it's kind of huge - I haven't worn a watch for a decade so it's weird to have something so big. I immediately went on to amazon. There are a ton of bands on there for super cheap. So yeah, it's pretty darn easy for like weather, emails, etc. etc. Is it necessary? God no. Is it kinda fun - sure. So yeah, we'll see.
You can read texts but I haven’t read emails on mine. I do open pandora and play my station. They really want you to get apple music so that is the best app for music.
I like mine for the fitness tracker. The weather/time is also handy. The texts and phone calls feature is also nice. A lot of the apps are just “meh” on the Apple Watch.
If you are into fitness and like to see calories burned, I would get it. If you feel the need to always be in reach for calls/texts, then I would get it.
I love mine for the weather/temp app, the fitness tracker, texting by dictation (so fast), for being able to receive communication at work in the ER without having my phone out (nice knowing I can always be reached by my kids), for finding my phone in the house when I’ve lost it, etc.
^^Oh!! Almost forgot my favorite feature. I tell my watch to remind me to do something at a certain time, and it buzzes me when I need to be reminded. It’s like a portable brain.
Also useful as a kitchen timer that is always on me.

Thanks! I have a $500 visa gift card that I was thinking of applying to an iwatch. Trying to decide if I’d get good use from it.
P.S. when you say it’s easy, is it big enough to read email or texts? Can you play podcasts and use other apps?

OP. Do you have the aluminum or stainless steel version?
